MODE ENCRYPT

MODE ENCRYPT [OFF/string]


Establishes the encryption key. Once an encryption key has been established, the following operations are available:

PACK/E will pack and encrypt a non-encrypted catalog

PACK/D will pack and decrypt the catalog provided its' key matches
the one that has been established with MODE ENCRYPT.

DEFINE, LIST, XREF, and XCHANGE will function normally provided
the catalog key and the MODE ENCRYPT key match.

You can run the application without providing an encryption key, but you cannot get to the definitions via DEFINE, LIST, etc. without providing the key.

MODE ENCRYPT OFF produces a condition of no encryption key.
