COPY for Files
This is for straight file-to-file copies. In every case where "filename" appears, it can be a full-path file name. If the path is not provided, the current directory is assumed.
Syntax:
COPY FILE [FROM] filename [TO] filename
Options:
E -If an error occurs, do not abort the procedure
G -Convert a Graphical file to SGML format
H -Convert an SGML file to Graphical format
R -Suppress overstore notification
X -Suppress the command response
Y -Do not alter the command answer cells
Answers:
Ctl.Ans1 =1 if successful, 0 if not
Ctl.Ans2 =Zero
Ctl.Ans3 =Zero
Notes:
FROM and TO are optional and are allowed for readability. The source of the copy is always name1 and the target is always name2.
If the file name did not previously exist it is created by the COPY command.
The "graphical" file format that we refer to is a proprietary format that we often refer to as "chunk" file format. So if you are ever talking to us and we use that term, you will know what we mean.
SGML means Standard Graphical Markup Language. It is a way of representing graphical objects in ASCII text.
